the game’s cel-shaded visual style was first applied in metal gear solid. the art style used on the characters was created by hirokazu kore-eda, who had previously worked on kairo. the game’s cutscenes were created using a cel-shaded technique.^[12]

the three endings to the game, which has four in total, were chosen by kojima in an effort to provide fans with the option to do so. [26] in japan, the game had six endings, but three were unused.
