Description:

American filmmaker Lauren Shuler Donner’s near flawless directorial debut, ‘To Die For’ is the tale of a single mother (Soleil Moon Frye) and her son (Andrew McCarthy) who end up working for a mysterious but wealthy businessman (Jeremy Irons) who is grieving over the loss of his wife. Meanwhile, the rest of the film’s cast is comprised of two of the most seductive actresses of the ’90s, Sharon Stone and Nicole Kidman. Though the film has enjoyed a solid box office run, the plot is still debatable.

Her ‘To Die For’

What do you expect from a movie that stars Sharon Stone, which has the budget of a mid-range movie. I mean, the movie had a budget of $25 million, and it is almost impossible to maintain. Now, let me clarify this for you.

Well, if you are looking for a decent remake of ‘To Die For’, or if you really need to watch a good movie, then I would suggest you watch ‘Vampire’s Kiss’. Not because it is good, but it’s good for what it is.

I just don’t want to watch this film again.

What’s not to love about it?

The casting was amazing, for one. The only problem with this movie is that they cast Sharon Stone as my favorite horror movie actress, Jessica Biel, who plays a woman in the bank. Biel is a good actress, but you would think that her potential could have been utilized.

The acting is good, for one. Sharon Stone and Jeremy Irons have great chemistry. They have such an amazing relationship. They seem like they have been married for years, which, in fact, is the only good thing about this movie.

The make-up and effects are almost flawless. I think the make-up department took their time and did their best. The opening shot of the doll is brilliant. You expect to see the doll outside of the movie theater.

And, if that is not enough, the set design and costumes are so magnificent. The best, however, is the ending. At the end of the movie, there is a huge fight scene, which brings tears to my eyes. It’s a huge surprise to see what occurs after
