Operational Amplifier Challenge provides your students with all of the concepts and circuitry needed to build a variety of operational amplifiers.
The design and implementation of an operational amplifier includes two parts: the biasing network that forces a working equilibrium between the input and output, and the buffering network that uses the two working voltages to generate a usable output.
Operational amplifier challenge begins with a few simple design exercises using op-amps available at Radio Shack. These include the classic follower op amp, the inverting amplifier, the non-inverting amplifier, the difference amplifier, the summing amplifier, and the instrumentation amplifier. The subject then moves on to the circuitry needed to make these basic op amps work.
At the end of the program, students will be able to design and analyze their own operational amplifiers using appropriate circuits and differential equations.
