How to use it
You’ll find the Windows 10 Calendar app under Settings > System > Calendar, and this is where you’ll find the weather data. You can create and edit events and tasks, and add them to your calendar.
Using the Weather app
To get started, open the app, and you’ll see the interface on the left side of the screen, and the map and weather information on the right. It’s really not that intuitive of an interface, so you’ll need to use the tabs at the top to navigate through it.
Tabs
There are three tabs on the top of the screen, and to switch between them, click on the highlighted arrow. The first tab lists your calendar data, and the second is the location’s conditions. The third tab gives you the “additional data” for the location. For some areas, this may include things like the current wind speed, wind direction, humidity, etc.
Weather related notes
Here’s where you can tap on the weather icon on the tab to see the current conditions. You can also tap on the location name at the bottom, which will open the Map application.

“With some recent Windows 8 updates, it’s impossible to enter a number into the Unit field. They’re unable to switch to 2-digit mode, and instead, they force the Unit field to be a 4-digit field without the ability to change them back. It’s a real annoyance, since I need to enter long numbers…and the only way to do it in the field is to count in thousands. If I count by thousands, I have to hit Enter every single time I want to enter a number for the conversion. I haven’t tested it with Win 10 yet, but I suspect they have the same issue. It’s a real problem, and the lack of a decimal function makes it extremely difficult to enter numbers to convert.
Why is this a problem? Well, it’s important when you’re trying to figure out exactly how much something costs. For example, I wanted to figure out how much a set of custom 3D glasses cost. I wanted to enter the cost of the glasses, and find out how much I could sell them for, but there was no decimal function on the input field. It’s silly, but it’s true.
So, in order to figure out how much my glasses were worth, I had to add up the cost of each pair, then divide by the total number of pairs to get an average, and then multiply that average by the number of pairs I was going to sell. It wasn’t exactly easy, and it required me to have a bunch of numbers on my screen, but it was the only way. If I had been able to enter a decimal amount, it would have been possible to divide out that component, thereby getting a number that’s not actually as precise as I actually needed.”
