How did you learn to make video games?
I have started by creating a game engine, I then started to make a fun game, but when I put the game on steam, only 4 players tried the game.
What programming language do you use?
I am using C++ and OpenGL
Tell us about your game and why it has been developed.
My game is a sequel of a multiplayer game of my best friend. The main gameplay is a combination of action games and puzzle games. Players work together to do different challenges, like running a maze. There are 80 levels in this game.
What inspired you to develop the game?
Inspired is a good word, but I started by making a game engine and then making a fun game with the engine.
The reason I made a sequel is because it was the first game I made.
Why did you choose your programming language?
I have tried to use OpenGL in the past and C++, but I have not had a lot of time to work on this project, so I decided to work with the C++ template and using the OpenGL 2.1 in the latest version of my game engine.
Which programming language will you use to complete the game?
The game engine in C++ and the game is written in C++ too.
How much time do you spend daily on the game?

Gameplay Ironfell is a multiplayer game that has a squad of 16 players each controlling a team of 8, a set number decided by the number of players in the match. Each player is given a team of swordsmen, with the ability to choose their preferred sword type, starting weapon, and starting gear. A feature of the game that isn’t shown on the official website is the way that the players are assigned to squads at the beginning of the match. The site says that each player is given a set number of positions, and that these positions are assigned randomly, but the positions assigned to each player are not random. Instead, it appears that the positions assigned to players are largely dependent on what the current player of that position has chosen, making the game less randomly-assigned than it appears, though a player’s individual choices and location may result in random assignments. The positions are as follows:
Position
XPosition
YPosition
The roll of a dice decides who’s playing that position in that team.
Who Your Squad Is Playing with
You can be placed in a squad with a player of your own choosing. If you’re playing in the same league as your opponent, you get to decide who is on your team. Otherwise, it’s up to the person who owns you to decide.
Squad Names
You’re given a name as soon as you’re placed in a squad, which serves as a constant reminder to the people around you who you are and how to use your squad. Players can opt to be part of more than one squad, but the team names they choose remain with them, even if they change teams. If you can’t think of a name that you like, you can choose one of five pre-made squad names. Otherwise, you get to choose a name that the people around you will be able to call you by.
Startoffs
You get your starting items after you choose your positions and your squad, which gives you a chance to choose which weapon you’d like to use for that game. The names of these items are rather generic, but they do have meanings. For example, a “Pick” item gives you the chance to select from various items with a random distribution. If you choose “Pick” again, you’ll receive a different distribution.
Loot Packs
After the start, players get the opportunity to pick up the loot for the day, which can be a Pick item, or a weapon, armor, an item for you or your team, or a coin thatWhat’s new:

Ian Donaldson, the son of the late science-fiction author Lord Dunsany, created Ironfell in 1967. It was the second novel Ian had written since starting out as a young writer after the publication of his first novel, Jadis the First, in 1962. Ian was born in Essex, England, in 1948. He is a cousin of the fantasy author David Eddings, and the late American writer and inventor John F. Kennedy Jr. He has sold over 100 million books in the course of his career.
News has it that Ironfell’s stories will be on TV sometime in the not-so-distant future. We caught up with Ian, who’s currently writing the first sequel to Ironfell, at his home in Weston, Florida, to talk about his life, his work, and the future of the Ironfell series.
Ian, you’ve lived in Florida since 1994 when you retired from writing. What made you decide to move to a warmer climate?
I liked living in Toronto in 1970 and 1971; there was a great deal of interest in fantasy at the time, but this fell away rather shortly after I became involved with writing Tor. Since then, I’ve been based in Florida except for most of the 1980s, when I lived in Scotland. I like Florida because it’s a transition zone between a humid climate and a tropical one. In terms of writing, I find that it suits me; in terms of weather, it’s pleasant, and the air is humid, which is good for the lungs.
Ian Donaldson at Western Green, July 1974.
When did you first start writing?
I started writing short stories at school in the late 1950s. I was inspired by the fantastic literary world at the time and read everything that was publishable, although my tastes were heavily weighted towards thrillers and adventure yarns. When I started writing, my criteria for such things were very simple: I wanted to write a story. In the five years leading up to Jadis, it gradually became clear
