the gameplay of infernax is tough, to say the least. each level has its own theme and challenges the player with specific tasks, namely to reach a certain objective, avoid certain dangers and deal with boss fights. the good news is that it’s easy to start from the beginning if you don’t know the game, as there is a great tutorial that explains all the mechanics and techniques. starting with infernax will put you through a rapid-fire introduction to platforming, so you should know the ropes before actually buying the game. the tutorial also includes two full playthroughs, so you can get a glimpse of what the game is like at its best. you can also download and play infernax on other consoles like xbox one or play it on windows.
gameplay in infernax is a little bit tricky, to say the least, so we want to make sure that you know how to play before buying infernax.
you must master the player controlled character to complete the game, but its easy to get stuck, in more ways than one. that’s because this game is not just about fighting everything on its way, it is just as much about exploring every inch of the world and every nook and cranny.
in order to fight things, you will have to use health pickups and a special weapon that is gained from defeated monsters. the latter also decreases every time you run out of health, and there is a chance youll lose a piece of your clothing when damaged. to go through the game, you must find a way to progress by crossing a set of blocks and controlling the hero to eventually reach a shrine that saves your progress.
this is how you fight the creatures that roam the levels. because each monster has different powers and there are many of them, the player must try to destroy as many as possible. as you move around, you have to keep an eye on the health of the character, as they cant take too much damage, and they have to cross blocks to continue. sometimes, a hero will lose a piece of clothing and you will see their body parts scattered on the ground, waiting to be collected.
when you cant move from the spot, you can get stunned by harmful enemies, and when you have no protection, the tiny moniters that start to move on the screen will be like a white spotlight, following your movements. if you fall in the abyss, you will have to start all over again, and the thing is, there is no way to skip the whole level. of course, that would be too easy, and the designers refuse to make the game more of a pain in the ass than it already is.
yes, infernax is the kind of game where you get to see some intense boss fights, where you will see different kinds of powers and abilities of the creatures of hell. if youre successful in taking out one of these bad boys, you will be rewarded with a special power, which can be helpful for your further adventures, or it can be used to make things worse.

in the depths of the petulant lurker pits, a mysterious warrior named infernax has killed the game’s leading adventurer and taken the treasure he was seeking. the forces of justice have sentenced infernax to execution, but a trap keeps him alive to be held as bait for the next worthy challenger. to clear his name, infernax must battle and defeat the rulers of the three corrupted lurker tribes.
the game’s final boss fight against infernax is included in this game as a tribute to the creator of this masterpiece. the final boss fight is insanely brutal and skill-based, and should be played through only with a save file. the game was designed in such a way that if the player fails to defeat infernax they get to choose from five random god-rulers, and fight him. if they defeat him, he goes free. if they lose, the “lurker pits” are filled with lurkers.
