Photoshop CS4 is the most recent version of Photoshop that I have used. It provides a new user interface that integrates the Camera Raw plug-in from Adobe, enabling more versatility and faster editing workflows. New features include the ability to edit RAW files directly in Photoshop, the option to create layers from backgrounds and transparent areas, a new Multilayer palette, and new Camera Raw tools.

In this tutorial, I will guide you on how to create a cartoon fire effect in Photoshop. This technique is very versatile and can be used for any image.
Step 1
Open the image you want to do your cartoon fire effect to begin with.
Step 2
Create a new document or load the image into the blank document on your computer. Resize it to the size you like and reduce or zoom it to your desired size.
Step 3
Click on Filter→Blur→Gaussian Blur or the plus sign in the Blur section to add a Gaussian Blur to the image. You will be asked to enter the radius of your Gaussian Blur.
You can even use the following settings to add a Gaussian Blur to the entire image.

Now go to Filter→Distort→Fisheye and change the settings to the following to add a fisheye effect to your image.

The first option shows you how to add a fisheye effect to the top, bottom, left, or right part of an image. So you would click on the appropriate arrow next to the ( ) box and change the percentage of image that will get a fisheye effect.

Next, we need to add the fisheye effect to the entire image. Simply click the Advanced button and rotate the fisheye effect around the center of the image. If you need to find the center of the image you can simply use the snap tool in your view or with the Scale tool (Ctrl + T).

Now we need to blur the image a bit more. Simply hold down the Ctrl key while using the Scale tool. You will be asked to enter the first width and the second width. The maximum you can enter is 16 for the X scale and 32 for the Y scale.

WASHINGTON — The National Institutes of Health said in a report released on Thursday that it was re-categorizing six highly infectious forms of hepatitis C, in a move that experts say could dramatically expand access to treatment for some patients.
It is the largest overhaul of the way the government classifies infectious diseases since 2004, when the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention reclassified sexually transmitted diseases like syphilis, gonorrhea and chlamydia.

Michael L. Walden, director of the National Institutes of Health, said the new categories were chosen to make a more accurate representation of the different forms of the disease, which can cause liver cirrhosis and liver cancer.
“This improved categorization will help ensure people with this serious disease receive the critical care they deserve,” he said.
About 3.2 million Americans are chronically infected with hepatitis C. Most are in prison, but an estimated 1.1 million people have the disease in the general population, and the number has increased by about 25 percent since 2010. Most of the new diagnoses will be in people who have not received treatment previously, because the formerly common hepatitis C treatments were generally reserved for people with a history of intravenous drug use.
But experts said the new categories would also have significant implications for patients with other forms of hepatitis C, including more than a few dozen patients in the United States who have a disease that has not been linked to intravenous drug use or contact with blood.
Nate Brown, who studies hepatitis C as a professor of medicine at the University of California, San Francisco, said it was unlikely that more than a small fraction of the people with hepatitis C would benefit from the new categories.
“What we’re talking about are large numbers of patients” with hepatitis C caused by sexual activity, he said. “There are going to be some who are only in this category, but most will be in another category,” he said.

Praat script : How to automatically create a new.wav file for each folder
I’m trying to create a script (in praat) which will read out all the files in a folder, and save it as a new.wav file in each folder (except the folder it’s currently in).
In praat, these are the commands I have tried so far:
Scan all files in the folder :
Get(File() openFileList(mixed openInput(“*.*”), “rb”^))
Read all files :
For(File() f = openFileList(mixed openInput(“*.*”), “rb”)^)
Scan(f)
EndFor
Save as new file :
Transmit(File(“.”) openFileOutput(“newtest.wav”, “wb”))
I have tried setting a path to the folder the script is in, and I have tried using f.resize() to calculate the number of bytes per wav. Both haven’t worked.
I would prefer to use this method, as I know the folder may change (in my case the audio files do, so I need the script to be able to work even if the folder it’s in is moved). The only think I don’t know how to do is the saving part.

First, you need to open the folder in which you want to do your operations and as you pointed out in your post, you need to specify the path of the folder in wav to open:
