This software really help me to setup my own hotspot for my colleague. Very easy to use. The only thing is the “HostedNetworkStarter” don’t show network on our desktop screen, but It open IE automatically to Network List.

It works perfectly – as long as you keep it safe. Do not share your whole internet connection, don’t share a connection that contains your bank’s site or login information, don’t share any passwords you can’t also change.

Make sure you think through how you want to use it before using it. If you want to make a hot spot but no one else needs it you wont be happy.
Problems with HostedNetStar

I’ve been using HostedNetStar for over a year. However, on Feb 14, 2016, after updating to v1.8.2, I’m now unable to use any wireless connections on my computer. If I go to the mobile hotspot on my computer, it connects fine. Using ios, i have to launch HostedNetStar from ios, select the connection for the wireless hotspot, wait a couple of minutes for the hotspot to propagate, and then I’m unable to connect any windows device to it. But if I launch HostedNetStar from windows, go to the connection I want, configure it, and connect to it, I can connect to it from mobile hotspot.
