The new RAW converter does a lot more than I’ve seen in the past, and that’s great. That said, why couldn’t it open JPEGs and automatically process them without me having to click any buttons? You’re manually running the converter when you’re making all the tweaks. Try to edit on one image, and it will pause. Why? You won’t switch back and forth to the other image without doing a lot of clicking. What’s the professional tool for a professional? That’s why Lightroom won. It does everything I need to do in one place.
Maybe you’re like me and you worry about the update. With the number of features Adobe is cramming into this version, I’m sure I could spend some time worrying about the update process. On the other hand, it’s much more important that whatever happens doesn’t ruin what you’ve done. The update moves back to the new WYSIWYG system. This way, features and your work will stay in sync. There’s no longer a DNG separate from Photoshop, and you can sort of have your files open, or in Photoshop, or in a separate conversion editor and have access to all of the raw/DNG/JPG data. If I import some RAW files, then start doing some edits in a separate editor, I can come back to the original editor. You cannot see a lot of the metadata in the WYSIWYG mode, but you can see it all in the original file.

The best way to view a document in a new way is to change the document’s Unit . By choosing a different Unit you can create a new perspective. Changing the Unit can also take your image to a whole other level. To make it even easier to get started with the new units, there are now three beautiful preset units available. Now you can start off with a new creative way to look at images. You can choose from one of three unique units or create your own. To view the Units first click on the New Units button. There you will see the document units. Simply click on the unit you would like to use and then change the master Axis. This gives your image a different perspective. To preview the changes, you can also click on the left half of the screen where you see your document name in the top left corner. Here you will be able to make further adjustments to your document.
