Getting Familiar with the GIMP Interface
The GIMP interface consists of the following:
Menu bar: In the standard GIMP interface, click on a menu bar to see its content. If the GIMP interface is quite large, you may need to click on the top left of the display window to see the menu bars.
Image editing workspace: In GIMP, the editing workspace is represented by the bottom window in Figure 1-3. The GIMP user interface is somewhat similar to that of Photoshop but offers far more of a learning curve. However, some of the functionality of Photoshop (including the Layers panel and channels) is included in GIMP’s.

What is Photoshop Elements and how does it work?
Photoshop Elements is an easy-to-use and powerful software. It allows you to crop, rotate, resize, add a variety of frames, or apply filters. The right side of the editor has the tools you use the most. There are layers. You can add and remove these layers to create a variety of effects and design of images. You can also merge, group, or split the layers. In a layer, you can add a mask. You can easily mask parts of the image while retaining the rest. The present invention relates generally to a method of fabricating semiconductor devices and a method of manufacturing a semiconductor device. More particularly, the present invention relates to a method of fabricating DRAM devices and to a method of manufacturing a DRAM device.
A double-layered DRAM cell is well known in the art. Such DRAM device is formed by forming a P-type impurity region in a main surface of an N-type silicon substrate. Further, in the above DRAM device, the P-type impurity region and an insulating layer are made to contact each other to form a capacitor. This capacitor is covered with an insulating layer and is isolated from other DRAM cells on the same substrate.
According to the prior art fabrication method, the P-type impurity region was formed in the main surface of the N-type silicon substrate. After that, the capacitor was formed of the P-type impurity region and the insulating layer. Since it is very difficult to fully fill the inter-level insulating layer to completely fill the gap between the P-type impurity regions, an air gap is formed between the P-type impurity regions. This causes a problem of increasing the area occupied by a DRAM cell. Also, the P-type impurity region and the insulating layer are connected to each other. The number of impurities introduced into the substrate is increased in this manner. In addition, a high voltage of about 25V must be applied to the P-type impurity region for forming the double-layered DRAM cells in the prior art fabrication method. Thus, the P-type impurity region must have a large thickness. In this manner, another problem is that the channel resistance is increased.
To avoid the above problem, it has been proposed to form a thin insulating layer covering the P-type impurity region and to connect the P-type impurity region and the insulating layer by the thin insulating layer. This thin insulating layer is formed by the RTA (Rapid Thermal Annealing) method or by chemical vapor deposition.
According to the above prior art, however, there is a problem. That is, since the thin insulating layer is formed by the RTA or by chemical vapor deposition, the inter-level insulating layer is excessively removed.
