The Toolkit contains a hidden database as well as an ActiveX control.
The hidden database stores user enrollment information. The ActiveX control allows the users to enroll on the go and get uniquely identified with the toolkit.
The Toolkit also allows the users to authenticate, enroll and validate the fingerprint matching.
There are three modes of operation available:
1) Offline matching – Identify the fingerprints that are stored on the toolkit.
2) Online matching – Update the matching database which can be used to identify the fingerprints that are stored on the toolkit.
3) Validation – Validate the fingerprints stored on the toolkit against the fingerprint from the unknown user.
Note: You can only match against one user at a time.
Biometric Matching by using the Toolkit:
1. If a user has not enrolled for the toolkit, then the Toolkit will ask for the user to enroll at the start of use.
2. After enrolling the user, the Toolkit will ask the user for his finger (or finger-pads) to be enrolled.
3. Once enrolled, the Toolkit will present the user with an enrollment form.
4. The user is asked to authenticate the fingerprint on the Toolkit.
5. The user is then asked if he wants to enroll his finger/fingerpads again.
6. The Toolkit will then ask for the user to authenticate his newly enrolled finger/fingerpads.
7. The user is then asked to validate the matching between his finger and the enrolled finger of the unknown user.
Limitations:
1. Only a subset of the fingerprint recognition algorithms are available and are specific to the toolkit. You must upgrade to obtain new algorithms.
2. The Toolkit provides an encrypted format for storing the enrolled templates, but does not protect the data from being reverse engineered.
3. The Toolkit is limited to enrolling, identifying and matching only, for a maximum of 10 users.
4. The Toolkit is limited to users between 19mm and 52mm in length.
5. The Toolkit is limited to users between 8mm and 20mm in fingerpad width.

This toolkit enables developers to integrate a Biometric Sensor into his/her web app. The Biometric sensor sends its info to a secure ActiveX Database. Developers will need to configure this DB to match their project.
