History
In 1982, Paul Brown and Davey Johnson joined with William Padgett to develop the initial version of AutoCAD for the Apple II computers and with Joe Painter and Bob Rastetter to develop the early versions of the Windows-based version. (Since 1982, Autodesk has sold a 3D-based CAD program called ConceptDraw, but did not market AutoCAD until 1994.) The first AutoCAD product was released for the Apple II in 1982; it would become the company’s flagship product and the basis for subsequent versions of AutoCAD. The original Macintosh version of AutoCAD was released in 1987. When the first version of AutoCAD was released, its users were restricted to Apple II-based computers. Users were unable to run AutoCAD on Microsoft Windows computers for the first five years. In 1992, the version for the Windows platform was made available, and the company changed its name to Autodesk Inc. by 1997.

History
AutoCAD was originally developed by Arthur Taylor in 1986 as a very early, primitive 3D CAD application. The current product, AutoCAD LT, began in 1991, as a native Windows application for use with a mouse and a conventional, non-touch, Wacom pen.
A more advanced, free version of AutoCAD, AutoCAD LT, was released in 1995. This version allowed the user to create 2D and 3D drawings, import and export 2D and 3D drawings, create technical drawings, and export them in DWG, DXF, DWF, and DWFx (DWFx was introduced in 1998) formats. This product was the primary tool for AutoCAD in all the early versions of AutoCAD. While a purely mechanical CAD software, it was the first release that had a built-in “Save As” feature. This was primarily the basis of the 1994 version of AutoCAD.
Starting in 1998, a new version of AutoCAD was created as a Graphical User Interface (GUI) application for use with a pointing device (typically a mouse, trackball, or IntelliMouse). This new product included the new capability of using the normal Wacom Tablet in place of a mouse (for some users). This capability was added to assist with the transition from the pen and paper (primarily CAD Operator) approach to the more modern mouse and GUI.
In 1999, the new AutoCAD was named AutoCAD 1999 and included the capability to import and export files to the proprietary DWG format.
In 2000, the capability to import and export to the native DWG format was added to the software.
In 2001, a new version of AutoCAD was released that included CAD-specific features such as pressure sensitive, multi-touch devices (IntelliMouse), constraints, and objects that can be created and edited in 3D. AutoCAD 2002 for Windows was the first CAD application to support multi-touch and pressure sensitive devices. It was also the first CAD application to be available for both Windows and Macintosh. No Sound on a iMac
I have a Dell XPS 830 and a Mac Pro and no sound whatsoever on them.
I have gone through quite a few posts and haven’t been able to find anything that can help me yet.
The machine is just a few months old and I am completely mystified.
