Anyone who has tried to remember usernames and passwords during a work session or a kids’ soccer game, has probably been frustrated by a password database that is not secured. What makes matters worse is that the password database becomes virtually unusable when the user wants to add a new account. Password databases are not secure because the passwords are stored in plaintext format, making them easy to read and use by unauthorized users.
The Replay Password Database Server works like an encrypted password database. While it does not provide an interface for the users, the secure password database is exported to disk by the application and can later be exported to a custom server. The exported data is encrypted before it is saved on disk. The encrypted data can later be imported to the custom password database.

How to Create a Password Database:
1) Create the encrypted password database.
The encrypted password database should be configured as a Windows System Registry key. For encryption, you will use Microsoft’s Encrypted Datastore Windows Cryptographic Service.
2) Import the encrypted password database to an existing password database by exporting the encrypted data.
You will export the encrypted database by launching the DataStore Manager application. In the default registry, you will find the path C:\Documents and Settings\\Local Settings\Software\Microsoft\Cryptographic\Curve\Name_of_the_Key_
When you navigate to this path, you will find the encrypted password database.
3) Exporting the encrypted data: You can now export the encrypted data as an XML file, which the ReplayPasswordServer application can read.

4) Importing the encrypted data: You can now import the encrypted data to a password database by navigating to the password database which you wish to export the data to. You can then import the XML file and the encrypted data will be imported

TerraIM is an instant messaging client that connects to the AIM, ICQ, and AOL networks. It supports offline messaging, remote control, aliasing, skinning, logging, and portability. The following screenshots are the first screenshots of the current alpha version of TerraIM:

TerraIM features a sidebar where you can open your buddy list, send messages, chat, and download files. The buddy list can be viewed in both vertical and horizontal “Tabs” mode. Chatting is enabled with “tabbed” mode only. Tabs feature a custom color for every buddy. This color can be changed via the Windows Paint application. When you click on a tab, the list will change to that tab. When you click on a buddy or a file, a dialog box will open with the details of that particular item. You can also specify an alias for a buddy. An alternative is to click on a tab then press enter (without typing anything) to open a message window with the details of that friend.
TerraIM components can be docked and undocked in a system tray area. This tray will have controls for opening, closing, and resizing the application. Clicking on the close button of a tab will close that tab. The close button will be grayed out when there is no tab open. Clicking on the window’s close button will close the application. The application can also be closed using a system tray menu. Clicking on a tab button in the system tray menu will open that tab. The tab buttons are:

This article is a HOWTO for installing the Awstats web server on a thin-client PC. Thin-clients are especially useful for children and disabled individuals.
However, the information provided in this article may also be useful for any person running a desktop Linux machine (or any other *nix flavour for that matter). That is because the method described here is quite general and applicable for any web server installation.
NOTE :- not recommended for the home user (you are better using a dedicated server)
Downloading and Configuration
For this article, you will need:
Awstats (version 0.5.4 or newer)
openSUSE 10.2 or newer
The connection between the webserver and a database
NOTE :- MySQL should be used – you can use whatever you like of course, even PostgreSQL if you prefer, but for a dedicated webserver MySQL is probably the best option
User Management
On the webserver machine, create the user vmail. Add this user to the group awstats. Make sure that the username and the group is exactly the same as on the webserver machine where Awstats is installed. Run the command groupadd awstats with your admin password. The user is now part of the group. You should now be logged in as the user vmail.
When setting up the Awstats user, a password is created with the setpasswd command. The user vmail password is changed for a long time. Please note that this password will be the same for all users of the system. This means that everyone who has sudo privileges and sudo access to this machine has access to the Awstats user. This is potentially a security concern. You can easily change the password for the Awstats user.
Setting up Files
The configuration files are located in /usr/local/apache/conf/awstats/. The folder /usr/local/apache/conf/awstats contains two important settings files, config.conf and access.conf.
