User Interface
The user interface (UI) of AutoCAD LT 2019 is similar to that of AutoCAD and other desktop apps from Autodesk. The main difference is that the UI is browser-based and web-enabled, which means that it can run in almost any environment that has an Internet connection and a modern web browser.
The UI is primarily navigated with a large, flat cursor that can be moved on the screen and scaled. A highlight indicator shows the current viewport on the screen. The three modes of the UI are:
Drawing (or Editing): the default, and most familiar, mode.
Landscape (or 2D): a 2D drawing or picture mode that displays the canvas in portrait orientation, similar to Google Earth. Landscape orientation is necessary to support 2D drawings.
Perspective (or 3D): a 3D drawing or picture mode that displays the canvas in landscape orientation. This mode is for 3D drawings.
In addition to these three modes, the user can switch back and forth between the three views with a click on a button, and if there is more than one document open, the user can switch between documents with a click on the Document Switch button.
On the main toolbar, there are four main buttons:
Undo and Redo: these buttons bring up the undo and redo functions in the model.
Fit/Midsize: this button resizes a drawing to fit a canvas.

Modules can be categorized as ‘Plugins’ (which can be loaded to the main window, ‘Command Extensions’ and ‘Extensions’. Extensions are further divided into 3 types, Modular, Template and 3rd party. Modular extensions modify the standard functionality of the application. This allows the user to personalize their experience. The Template extension contains all the settings needed to start a drawing from scratch. A template is like a new drawing created with a default settings and can be used many times. The third-party extension refers to an extension that is provided by a third party.
In 2012, AutoCAD introduced a new user interface called “AutoCAD LT.” It features simplified UI that can be used in smaller workgroups.

3D and 2D architectural design tools are included in AutoCAD. They include:
Project Information Management (PIM) enables non-technical staff to plan and build projects and get a picture of the design from a single source
