The kid’s fine, but the hair is so dull that I wonder if he’s been fertilizing it with unoriginal hair products for the last few months. Still, he was comfortable in his own skin and can be complimented on his skill with a haircut.

That was the end of the sightings, as far as the kids were concerned. After a while, they headed back to the park benches to study for their mid-terms and I followed them in the hopes of picking up a few nice shots.
In the main, this part of the park is mowed and planted with shade trees. A lot of the grass is still alive and carpeting the path. Walking back, we spotted this little guy, who must have been trying to make his way across a golf course-style area. A few minutes later, he joined up with a family of squirrels who were preparing for an evening in the sun.
Expecting more of the same, we walked down one side of the path, but we didn’t get our hopes up. The grass felt a little spongy and there was just enough light to be a bit of a challenge.
On our walk back, I took some shots of the path leading to the main public toilets. There’s a tunnel through the woods to the main building, but this path is the main one. It’s lined with old Japanese maples and is criss-crossed with little paths leading into the woods. Two years ago, I spent a day in this park, measuring things and walking those paths. On that day, most of the paths were filled with daffodils and their peak was just a few days before the ground would begin to soften and bust out in spring growth.
Also, it’s being threatened by a few developments. The area to the east of the park is earmarked for additional condo units. There is a plan for condos on some of the tree-covered hilltops, as well. While some trees may be saved, it’s likely that the route I took through the park will be closed to public. There’s a possibility that some
