Hello All,
I hope the new year has started well for all of you. The Aiki Expo has completed in San Diego, and I can’t wait for the spring event in Phoenix to hit the ground.
Since the last event, I have been quiet on the aikido front. My initial retirement from the U.S. Army has begun to take effect and it has kept me busy in writing new and better aikido material. I have been teaching students as they are ready to receive the training. Several of my students have been receiving private lessons with myself and Andy.
I will be teaching an advanced seminar in Dallas at the Baddow Family Training Center. I am excited about getting back to the black belt training levels and offer a new program in the arsenal of the students.
I would like to thank all the students that have been attending my classes, they have made it all possible to keep teaching.
Since the last event, I have been working on material for a new video. I am very excited about it. As of now, it is still a work in progress and I would like feedback on it. I have been using this format to cover some of the more essential points of the aikido syllabus. I look forward to your input.

In August this year, a report came out, stating that a ransomware attack, malware, or something similar was causing the great majority of laptop and desktop computers in the US to go offline, thus crippling businesses, and turning the general public into victims. The attackers behind this ransomware attack had suggested that they would begin targeting government institutions as well, but this did not happen.
There is a similar attack that has happened before, but only in Russia, and it was in 2013. It happened on the same year of the Snowden leaks, and was called the ‘DoublePulsar’ attack. It was developed by the Russian government’s anti-malware organization, and was developed for the very purpose of stopping the WannaCry ransomware.
We don’t know much about this new ransomware, but we do know some of the damages that can be caused, which can include:
The Computer can be made to work, but with some settings not being saved.
The PC can be made to reboot on its own, locking the user out of the machine.
Some PC settings can be made permanently lost, and without any recovery.
The loss of money and the loss of user data can be caused, which in turn can lead to lost business opportunities, and an overall decrease in productivity.
There can also be some damage to your PC, which is called a blue screen of death (BSOD). The blue screen can be caused by the PC running out of memory, or by problems with the hard drive.
